For those seeking to understand Bible prophecy

Most Bible teachers base their views on what they have been taught which is derived from the notes in the Scofield Reference Bible. This view is called Futurism and is radically different from the traditional view believed by the faithful church for over 1000 years.

Does Futurism fit the Bible or is it an imposter which is forced onto the text though it doesn’t fit? The only way to resolve this question is to take a careful and detailed look at the Bible text. For those seeking truth, this website was set up to host the book

Daniel’s 70 Weeks Prophecy: An exposition based on the Hebrew text by Herman Goldwag.

Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. 2 Timothy 2:7

Notes

How should we interpret Biblical prophecy? Does the Bible give us any pattern to follow? In Daniel chapter 8 Daniel is given a vision including animals, horns, lands etc. Daniel didn’t know what to make of it, so he prayed for understanding. In response the angel Gabriel is sent and explains the vision. It is clear that this vision described major events of history which happened over more than 200 years. Taking a similar approach to interpreting other propehcies is called the Historicist view which was universally accepted by the church before the Futurist view took over. While critics say that some things in history cannot be fitted in and that Historicists disagree about interpretations, there is so much of history which fits the visions of the book of Revelation/Apocalypse that it cannot be accidental. Since the fit is too good to be accidental, then it must be by God’s design, so perhaps it is the real meaning of the prophecy? Perhaps the reason some things don’t fit is because of our ignorance of history or the result of revisionists changing history?
A good introduction to the Historicist view of the book of Revelation/Apocalypse is given in the book His Waiting Bride: An outline of Church History in the light of the Book of Revelation by Edgar F. Parkyns.
Although the owner of this website does not agree with everything written in each book, the books have been chosen because they have been found helpful and deserve wider circulation for the edification of the body of Christ. Come quickly Lord Jesus.
